Let's Build a Stronger Community, Together
PD Buzz is about to change hands. When Lauren first started PD Buzz over six years ago, her goal was to find a way to connect people with Parkinson’s to resources as soon as possible after diagnosis. We are so fortunate here in Orange County to have multiple exercise programs, support groups, therapies, organizations, and specialists. We have seen the work they do and firmly believe that the sooner someone gets connected with these resources, the better they will do on their journey with Parkinson’s.
With the growth in the PD population, the needs of the community are growing. It is time to take the next step and turn PD Buzz into a formal 501c3 non profit organization. We are so grateful to have Erin Angelo, currently Executive Director of the Rx Ballroom Dance program, assist us by stepping in to the role of formalizing PDBuzz into a new organization.
For Parkinsons Orange County to be successful, we need your help. Some of our goals include:
1. Formalizing and transforming the PDBuzz website into Parkinsons Orange County
2. Managing and coordinating volunteers to assist with the PD community
3. Assist support group leaders with resources, enrollment and content
4. Creating Parkinson's educational events and aligning local resources to best serve the community, including events for newly diagnosed patients
5. Helping to fund free resources that serve the community
We are asking you to consider making a donation to our new organization. We need this new organization here in OC to continue the job Lauren has worked so hard at these past six years. We still have lots to do.
